From: julia.barsi@nasa.gov Subject: Important Correction to Atmospheric Correction Parameter Calculator Date: October 29, 2009 3:19:44 PM EDT AtmCorr Users -- This week a user pointed out some anomalous results from the Atmospheric Correction Parameter Calculator (atmcorr.gsfc.nasa.gov) and asked if there is something wrong with the tool. It turns out that there was. There was an error in the routine when a user input a negative latitude. The latitude field wasn't large enough to include the negative sign, so the processing of the atmospheric data terminated without generating new files containing the spectral tau, Lu and Ld. However, the script didn't trap the error at that point; it continued to run using the files generated by the previous successful run, so the posted/emailed results were for someone else's site. You are receiving this email because I have a record that you requested atmospheric parameters for a point in the southern hemisphere from the AtmCorr tool. The tool has been corrected as of this morning (29-Oct-09). If you are in a position to rerun your query and update the parameters that you used, you should do so, since the numbers that were previously sent to you were not for your site. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I hope your results all improve with the correct atmospheric parameters. And if you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me.
